YSL Fall Sample Sale *Review*

I'm sure most people are searching about the YSL sample sale held at Soiffer Haskin this week. I, being one of them, kept looking up reviews to see if it was even worth my time. However, being the shop-aholic that I am, I decided to take a look after work since they extended their hours until 8pm. I had the chance to go on the first day, but the mere thought of waking up at 3am to stand on line at 4am, did not sound too pleasing. Despite that, I did tell my friends to go early, because the early bird DOES get the worm. Of course, they took my advice and did exactly that: stand on line starting at 3am, just so they can be the first batch in at 9pm. They did tell me that bags were not the typical classics we all adore. Rather, many of the bags were many "seasons" old. However, one  lucky friend of mine did score 2 pairs of the famous Tributes for $350 each. Apparently, there were plenty of dotted arty rings (sold at the June SS) there, but most of them were gone by the end of the day.

Onwards to today: the end of the second day of the SS. Unfortunately, despite my desire to snatch up more YSL handbags (as I am a handbag whore), there were nothing specifically pleasing to my eyes and wallet. There were a bunch of Muse II Cabas: purple with purple lining, tricolor, patent black, and purple with suede brown lining. Roadys were also plentiful with the followings colors: metallic silver, leopard, pewter, patent beige, white, metallic gold, black, and studded black/brown. The Roady, being a somewhat classic bag did not entice me once I laid my fingers across the leather. All the leather felt cheap, thin, and somewhat different from the ones I felt at the store. There were several YSL multys: patent black, patent red, white, gold, and denim-ish looking blue. Plenty of YSL logo canvas totes: black and white background, but nothing spectacular. There were Muse II messenger bags: patent black and turquoise (1 left). As for people asking for Easys, there were many, but they were all hideous: metallic bronze and leopard canvas. They also had a lot of metallic gold Y envelop totes (medium and large sizes) but they were too "out there" for me. Clutches were HIDEOUS, wouldn't even know they were YSL if I saw them on the street. There were other bags that I did not recognize, but this was pretty much what is leftover as of the second day.

As for shoes, belts, rings, wallets, and clothing, nothing was left. I did see a pair of peep toes beige color leather pumps, but it was nothing wonderful. I was a bit disappointed that none of the dotted arty rings were left. I was hoping to score one since I did not purchase one at the last sample sale.

All in all, I think if you are attempting to score a muse II cabas, it is still worth it as they are only $600. I did see the exact same color Muse II Cabas tote at Woodbury Commons two weeks ago that costed double that. Now, if they do reduce the prices on all handbags, I am willing to return and buy one. Otherwise, I think I'll wait for the December after Christmas Sale.
