Shopping at its Best

Most people don't consider shopping a hobby, sport, or even favorite pass time activity. Quoted from my dearest, "Is there anything else you ever want to do besides shopping??" Well, the answer is YES, of course I have something bigger and better to do besides SHOPPING, but there comes a time (or several times throughout the year) when it is essential to consume products that you may not necessarily need in order to make yourself sane. I mean who can blame me? I spend most of my day dealing with/fixing up people with some sort of agonizing pain. Yes, my job is rewarding. Yes, I love working with people. Yes to all the above what my job entails. But at the end of the day, I am overall a woman, a normal human being, a girly girl, who like other normal woman, has some sort of weakness when we encounter our loyal friend called SHOPPING.
Now there are exactly two weeks per half a year when I go ballistic buying out things I see in my pathway. One of them happens to be around now: the Mid Year Sale. Personally, I love sales, especially designer sales. If you spend just an ounce of your time going on forums or blogs, you may capture when these special sales and sample sales take place. The discount may be quite steep at times, possibly 70% off retail prices on pieces that are currently being sold in the stores. In the month of June, there are currently a couple of events that I am looking forward to.

1. Yves Saint Laurent Sample Sale: June 12th, 2012
You may want to start your day early for this one. I have never been to this one yet. However, I did hear from numerous blogs and forum posts that this one can get a bit "catty." I plan on going on line at 7am and waiting for it to open at 9am to see what goodies they may have. Will do an update on it later.

2. Tory Burch Sample Sale
I am not a Tory Burch fan, however, I know approximately 75% of my friends are. Well, this is happening on the same day June 12th, 2012, hosted by www.clothingline.com. Sale starts at 11am and ends at 7pm.

3. Second markdowns at Saks, Barneys, BG, and Neiman Marcus
This requires a bit of work. It works best if you befriend a sales associate at each respective store. Hence, they can email you pictures of what they have in stock and as a loyal customer, you get first dibs. So be nice to SAs and always ask for the same SA when purchasing. According to www.purseforum.com, second markdowns occur mid June to early July.

4. Salvatore Ferragamo Mid Year Sale
Usually seasonal shoes (especially my favorite varina flats) may be approximately 35% off retail. If you are looking for handbags they may be as good as 50% off retail price. Last season, I was lucky enough to purchase one of their two tone patient varina flats for approximately $300 (retail $500). This sounds steep, but I was too in love with them to let them go, besides it being the last pair available.

5. Ralph Lauren Sample Sale
Happening right now! I did not attend as I am not a Ralph fan, but to all you ladies and gents, here is your chance to get all your GQ look essentials.

6. J. Crew Sample Sale
Starts June 19th, 2012. Heard from raving reviews that you can get deep and good discounts on a lot of their clothes. Once again, I am not a JCREW fan, but I know a lot of my friends are. So get there early and shop away for everyday work clothes and gear. Goods are always better on the first day, and most of the time markdowns does occur on the last day of sale. However, the goods on the last day of sale are always very limited in sizes and styles.

In essence.....

Happy Shopping!
